Are you like me sitting beside your computer ready to book that next big travel experience? But wait, do you even feel confident enough to travel after enduring three months of a global pandemic?
That’s right, many of us are itching to travel: we miss the smell of airplane fuel, people-watching, deals at the duty-free shops, the long walks to boarding gates with our carry-on bags, the big jet-airliner taking off and landing, and then arriving at our destination.
Travel always fuels a true sense of newness, that’s for sure, but right now the confidence among travelers is low as many people are nervous to book flights.
But don’t despair, airlines around the world are working to take care of their passengers. A case in point is Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations – they will put your fears to rest, and they will get you back in the skies with a smile.
The airline, one of the best in the world, has listened to feedback and concerns from its customers and implemented a system to make your bookings easier and much more flexible.
If you had a vacation cancelled and have travel credits, then you need to know that Air Canada Vacations announced that it has eliminated expiry dates for its future travel credits issued for cancelled vacations due to COVID-19.
They say the change is in addition to the flexible changes that were previously announced in April, including the possibility to transfer the credit to another person, and the ability to keep the residual value of the credit resulting from a fare difference.
But wait, it gets better.
Air Canada Vacations recently announced that the CareFlexPlus program is extended and will be available until June 30, 2020. For $59, the program, which includes a reduced refundable deposit of $100, allows travelers to cancel with a full refund to the original form of payment up to 25 days prior to departure.
Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations were the first to start flying, and as a travel addict this gave me hope and I feel much more confident to book with our major national airline with the new flexible cancellation and rebooking policy.
They also revealed new programs to keep us extra safe, such as their cleaning and safety protocols on flights, at the airport, and at arrival and destinations too.
New flights are now open to book for July, and they include some services to the U.S., Caribbean, South America, Europe and Pacific destinations.
You can book with confidence as prices are reasonable. However, it is suggested that prices may go up in the near future, so book now and if you have to cancel then you now have that peace of mind knowing you are protected.
I found a couple of excellent flight bargains: Toronto to Athens in August for $829; and, London at the end of June for $650.
Vacations start at under $1000, including flight and tax for departures in June to Mexico.
