Being nominated to the Oakville Awards for Business Excellence (OABE) is a big accomplishment, but making it to the list of finalists is a real feather in your cap.
Just ask Jennifer Watson, MBA, CFP®, CIM® of Watson Investments in Oakville, who has just made the shortlist for the Cogeco Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Scores of local entrepreneurs were nominated for this award and Jennifer is one of the final four finalists. There are 25 finalists in eight categories.
The Oakville Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Oakville West will host its 26th Annual Oakville Awards for Business Excellence this summer and will announce the location and date in the coming weeks as we all navigate a global pandemic.
The Oakville Awards for Business Excellence are dedicated to recognizing exemplary models for business excellence and community service by Oakville’s businesses and the invaluable contribution to Oakville’s economic development, unique character, and outstanding quality of life.
“I am both humbled and thrilled to be recognized as a finalist alongside some amazing entrepreneurs who are making a huge difference in the lives of others, our community, and our economy locally and nationally,” says Jennifer. “It’s a real honour to make the list and my only goal is to continue growing as an entrepreneur and business leader and giving back to our community.”
Jennifer is a Managing Partner at Watson Investments, formerly Peter Watson Investments. She is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Investment Manager, and Portfolio Manager with an MBA from Ivey Business School.
Credibility, expertise, and trust are three qualities Jennifer believes clients and potential clients expect from wealth managers. Supported by a professional team, she delivers on her beliefs to build long-term relationships and provide peace of mind to her growing client base. Her industry certifications combined with her ease of conversation and ability to connect with people gives clients a clear sense of being in the right place at the right time.
Networking and leadership come naturally to Jennifer. She is Vice President of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce Young Professional and Entrepreneur Group, a member of Estate Planners’ Council of Halton, as well as the CEO Global Group, Family Enterprise Exchange, Co-Chair Pointe au Baril Islanders Association Regatta, and is a part of an invitation only Evidence-Based Investment group with fellow leading wealth managers. She also devotes time to her Alma Mater, Ivey Business School.
“Each year, we enjoy the opportunity to celebrate the best in business in Oakville. Now, more than ever, it is important to recognize and celebrate our local businesses and their significant contributions to our community,” says Doug Eglinton, Chair of the Board of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce. “We thank the Oakville community for their continued support and nominating these outstanding businesses.”
“The judges carefully reviewed the nominations, and through the selection process, had the difficult task of naming 25 finalists,” said Ahmed Ezzat, President of the Rotary Club of Oakville West. “We congratulate all of the finalists on achieving this honour.”
