The need for governments and airports to adapt new technology to help combat the spread of COVID-19 has just been made clear.
You see, a Stratford, ON, man who just tested positive for COVID-19 was caught with a forged document at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
He made his test appear negative, but the sharp eyes of Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Public Quarantine officers spotted the suspect document while they were conducting routine checks.
“The man’s document was revealed to be fraudulent, it was, in fact, a positive test result,” states the Peel Regional Police Airport Division in a news release.
The suspect is a 29-year-old Stratford resident, who has been charged with knowingly using a forged document and is now in holding for the required quarantine period.
How many people could have been infected as a result of his actions?
People faking their COVID-19 tests in order to travel is now a disturbing trend, says Lorraine Simpson.
However, the popular Cityline TV Travel Expert and Travel Personality, assures that new technology will help keep everyone in check.
Simpson points to Loop Insights, a Vancouver-based company, who are offering their new Wallet Pass technology on the market. Simpson, who only partners with brands she believes in, joined forces with Loop to help those in the travel industry understand the benefits of their technology and how it will help reboot the global tourism industry.
Wallet Pass is impressive tech that creates travel bubbles and offers contact tracing to help identify, assess, and manage people who have been exposed to COVID-19 and to further prevent onward transmission. The company’s contact tracing platform is a safe and a fully managed solution for travelers, businesses, and organizations. Wallet Pass offers an integrated and verified COVID-19 testing and Vaccination Certification.
Using Wallet Passes, wearables, or physical cards, guests simply tap to check in and securely share their information. Users will receive automated notifications if they are potentially exposed to another user who has contracted the coronavirus.
The technology will also play a huge role for businesses and organizations alike as they can track testing, venue bubbles, and vaccinations, and it allows them to send personalized promotions and marketing opportunities to users’ mobile phones. That’s right, a direct communication channel is created through Wallet Pass between a business or organization and users.
Everything you need for tracking tests, venue bubbles, vaccinations, and marketing campaigns is all done through Loop’s Wallet Pass.
The technology is simple, easy, and effective, and it will help transform the travel industry in so many ways.
“Loop’s Wallet Pass will play a massive role in not only keeping everyone in check on the testing and vaccination fronts, but it will also help build confidence in everyone and help get our world back to a ‘new normal,’” explains Simpson.
“Travel and tourism has taken a massive hit, and the only way to save our $1.5 trillion-dollar industry is to utilize Loop Insights Wallet Pass technology: it works, and is an innovative solution for travel bubbles, contact tracing, and vaccination data. Even better, the technology helps businesses communicate with users. Wallet Pass is like a new one-stop-shop for all things health and safety and communications.”
Loop’s Wallet Pass is now being used at all sorts of venues: The Paiute Las Vegas Championship, a Korn Ferry Tour Event; NCAA College Basketball; NCAA Big West Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship; and the Canadian company now operates in the telecom, casino gaming, sports and entertainment, hospitality, and retail industries, in Canada, the US, the UK, Latin America, Australia, Japan, and Indonesia. What’s even more impressive is that Loop’s products and services are now even backed by Amazon’s Partner Network.
Following the success of their venue bubbles, Loop Insights has been engaged in discussions with professional sports teams, global hospitality companies, travel groups, airlines, and event hosts in search of a solution to enable the safe resumption of their operations and ensure their long-term viability and sustainability.
Loop Insights and Empower Clinics just announced the combination of their respective venue tracing and COVID-19 testing expertise to create the first-ever travel bubble solution for the Vancouver tourism industry.
Loop and Empower also partnered with SimpliFlying, the world’s leading aviation marketing consulting firm, to support specific near-term opportunities with world renowned resorts, national tourism boards, major airlines, airports, cruise ships, and ports.
“With our world soon entering a new normal, we need technology like Wallet Pass to help stop any further lockdowns,” adds Simpson. “We have just experienced two major lockdowns in Canada and it’s taking a huge toll on the economy. We need to be vigilant with health and safety and the only way to do it is through new technology like Wallet Pass.”
