Great British Travel is on the Horizon!
As a UK specialist travel advisor, Paula Everett of Concierge Travel Group has travelling to the UK high on her wish list. Paula, a fellow Brit, has been working with me booking travel and helping me with weddings for a few years. I’m so happy to have her on my team of Travel Experts!
We all know how devastating the pandemic has been but on the travel industry. The effects will linger until all possibility of contracting the virus while we travel is squashed.
Travel is slowly coming back
Up until now Air Canada have offered a very limited service to London Heathrow for essential travel only. Gradually Air Canada have been resuming their flights to UK and Europe, albeit slowly and to only a handful of countries.
Yesterday Air Transat announced the resumption of their flights and tour operator activities as of July 23, 2020, to 20 destinations, including UK, Europe, the Caribbean and US.
And so it begins……. Slowly but surely.
“Visiting UK is a must for me, for work purposes and also for family reasons. My niece has her first baby due later this summer and I’d love to be able to visit them as soon as I can. Perhaps a non-essential reason for travel, but essential to my own personal well-being!” she said.
Presently, visitors to the UK are having to go into self-imposed quarantine for 14 days, making it largely impossible for many to even consider travelling to UK. These restrictions are being constantly re-assessed and updated often. Air Bridges and travel corridors seem to be the next step towards reopening the world.
With Air Bridges being discussed between countries, allowing travel between two countries with low transmission rates, and no quarantine measures in place due to that reason, the time is getting closer for this to become possible.
Why Visit Great Britain?
Social distancing and getting right off the beaten path is easy in UK and Paula certainly knows it like the back of her hand. Taking a drive into the beautiful countryside is the best way to see Britain. The country is filled with beautiful towns and villages that are breathtakingly beautiful. These areas are dotted with boutique hotels, pubs with rooms and patios and small hotels with luxurious amenities. It really is a place I suggest go on your #postPandemicBucketlist.
England is a perfect location to enjoy the fascinations of artistry, history and nature. Hopefully we can get back to experiencing the UK very soon. If you would like to book a trip for your future travel to UK, scotland or Ireland reach out to Paula here.
