The Brantford Food Bank’s shelves might be empty during the worst pandemic in over a century, but one of the province’s leading entrance technology companies based in Brantford is determined to keep their doors open while helping feed those in need.
Called Brant Businesses Answer the Call – COVID-19 Response, the campaign is now bringing together scores of local businesses who are supporting the cause. The initiative will also involve partnerships with local grocery stores and local trucking and logistics companies who will coordinate and deliver donated items right to the Food Bank’s door.
Ironstone Entrance Technologies, an award-winning business that specializes in servicing and installing all brands of automatic, manual pedestrian doors, and more, is spearheading a huge community outreach campaign that will directly support the local Food Bank.
Ironstone announced on social media this week that their goal is to deliver the donations to the Food Bank by May 1 as many will be struggling at the time which rent is due. With over 60 businesses willing to participate, they have raised over $6,000 in donations. The goal is to surpass $10,000 in donations in order to purchase 10 full pallets of food.
“We need more good news for our community and the world and that’s why our company has launched this special campaign,” explains Cam Bell, who is the co-founder and co-owner of Ironstone Entrance Technologies. “Sure, we run a successful business, but when we heard that our local Food Bank’s shelves are bare, we immediately stepped up to the plate and we know our collective efforts will put a smile on everyone’s faces during these unprecedented times.”
