This new smart condom will track a man’s performance in bed – sort of like a Fitbit for your penis.
The high-tech rubber bracelet from British Condoms logs the data and sends it to the user’s smartphone. The i.Con Smart Condom measures the number of calories burned during sex, the speed of a man’s thrusts and the duration. It can also detect sexually transmitted infections.
“Welcome to the future of wearable technology in the bedroom,” a description of the device read.
Photos of the smart condom were officially released earlier this week.
“It’s here and it’s beautiful. We wanted the i.Con to look refined, non-intrusive and lightweight – the finished article is nothing short of any of those things,” lead engineer Adam Levers told the U.K. Metro. “There’s a lot of tech packed into the i.Con for us to be able to deliver is in such a way that were is absolutely no hindrance to the user was our main goal – and I think we have gone above and beyond with the i.Con to make sure of this.”
The band is waterproof, flexible and even lights up, but men will still have to wear a normal condom for protection.
The i.Con Smart Condom Ring will go on sale early next year and will cost about $101.
